Just wanted to mention I bought a 2 pack screen protectors for the Blackberry Curve 8900 for $1 at the Dollar Tree. They fit my M8 screen EXACTLY and are super clear plastic. The clearest I have used! For a buck, this is a good deal $$$!!! I plan to buy them up for future use. Run to a Dollar Tree now to get your screen protectors!!

I had a cheap display protector on mine for a little while but when replacing it with a good one (Giotto's glas one) I realised that there was quite a difference.

Hmm.I know somebody who damaged the coating of his screen by using a cheap protector. I would use one sold by a reputed camera store, at least you have recourse if the adhesive is too aggressive.

Can you describe the damage sustained to the screen and can you provide contact information to the affected party for questions?
Thanks for the heads up!

The coating was damaged. It looked like an eroded patch of about a square centimeter. So the owner used another screen protector for a while to camouflage the damaged patch, then upgraded it and finally sold it after getting an M9.

All the "cheap" protectors I've ever seen were held on by static cling, not adhesive. Unless the guy used clear package-strapping tape!? Zagg and BestSkinsEver use adhesive, but those are high-end protection film the kind used on car panels, and they come off without damaging the paint.
I have heard of many people trying to remove cracked Giottos and GGS protectors and inadvertently pulling the screen cover off the LCD along with it. Evidently the adhesive holding it on responds to a hair dryer in the same manner as the protector.
