I was thinking that I might like to try carrying my Nikon F100 in one hand, with a strap to help things along. I've seen examples on the forum, but not in real life. Do you all have any recommendations?
Thank you to all who reply.
With best regards.

Get a bit of light cord, and tie a loop. Attach it to one of the strap lugs with a split ring.

I have one that is actually off a dive torch, it has a little toggle thing so you can lock it on. Sort of like this

The Gordy straps are great and a good deal as well.

gordy's a good choice for a hand strap. not sure if you're able to get hold of the crumpler noose, but it looks and work great. so does artisan and artist. they have some real nice, albeit expensive, straps

Try looking for something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140853616740?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
I've got one on my FZ5 and think it's brilliant. There are other suppliers for the item.

I designed my own for my three motorizes SLRs, had the camera base plates machined for two of them and made the third plate myself, and have been using them for years. If you can't get exactly what you want commercially, then just make it yourself.

Get a Nikon AH-4 Hand Strap. It utilizes the right hand strap lug and has a baseplate that uses your Tripod socket. Basically your Nikon fits into your hand like a glove.
Originally made for the F2 and F3 I think and not longer available new. I modified a AH-2 baseplate so that the AH-4 can be used with my F3P with a MD-4 motordrive. It definitely looks like a deadly weapon secured to my right hand.

I have a Crumpler Noose on my M5 which I like quite a bit. It's padded so it's a little bulky, but very comfortable to carry. It has a small pocket designed for an SD card, but works well for a button cell too.
