I was thinking that I might like to try carrying my Nikon F100 in one hand, with a strap to help things along. I've seen examples on the forum, but not in real life. Do you all have any recommendations?

Thank you to all who reply.

With best regards.

gordy's a good choice for a hand strap. not sure if you're able to get hold of the crumpler noose, but it looks and work great. so does artisan and artist. they have some real nice, albeit expensive, straps

So far only wrist straps have been mentioned. A proper hand strap like this will help support the weight of the camera when you carry it, rather than just catch it if you drop it.

don't forget to check out the lance wrist strap and mr.zhou wrist strap.
zhou is great if you like leather...nice and soft and not too pricey.

I designed my own for my three motorizes SLRs, had the camera base plates machined for two of them and made the third plate myself, and have been using them for years. If you can't get exactly what you want commercially, then just make it yourself.

Get a Nikon AH-4 Hand Strap. It utilizes the right hand strap lug and has a baseplate that uses your Tripod socket. Basically your Nikon fits into your hand like a glove.

Originally made for the F2 and F3 I think and not longer available new. I modified a AH-2 baseplate so that the AH-4 can be used with my F3P with a MD-4 motordrive. It definitely looks like a deadly weapon secured to my right hand.
