I can uderstand military cameras, engraved to commemorate the campaign or end of war, but limited kits for the sake of limitedness....I don't get it.
I'm sorry to be rude, but you could not buy a better digital camera for $300 (if it was indeed $300).

One additional thing if you buy from B&H, they throw in fujifilm's EF-42 flash.
As the camera has a leaf shutter, that's an interesting combo.

Interestingly the X100 black kit is only £800 in the UK.
Therefore to import one into the US would be $1066 (deduct 20% VAT x0.833 x1.60 GBP-USD )
