I recently acquired a Rolleiflex Automat that I believe to be from around 1949 off of Craigslist. I got it from a young lady who said it was her grandmother's. Everything seems to work perfectly. The viewing lens/mirroe is a little dirty, but the taling lens, a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 3.5 is clear.Below are a few pictures from the first roll of XP2:

Yeah, I'd say it's working good. You can clean the viewfinder mirror, and back of the viewing lens yourself by removing the hood and groundglass. Be gentle with the mirror.

My Rollei is a little younger than yours--1950 based on the serial number--but it's a wonderful camera. Consider getting a bright focusing screen installed, it will make a world of difference.

I am selling mine right now in the classifieds, incl. a brighter screen.
I wish I could keep it however, but I just never shoot the thing. It's such a nice camera and compares very nicely to the Rolleiflex 3.5F that I once owned but gave away.
