Ricoh GR1: lcd

I want a ricoh gr1; however, there seems to be several on the bay having lcd issues.

How important is the LCD? I have no experience with this camera.

I don't care so much about the frame counter (although that would be nice), nor do i care so much about snap mode, but I must be able to use exposure compensation.

Exposure compensation is done with a dial on the left of the camera at the top which clicks either way +/- so the LCD does nothing towards that
