Canon 50/1.5 on Bessa R2A Problem

I recently bought a Canon 50/1.5 (sonnar) lens on in LTM.

I mounted it via the usual adapted onto my Bessa R2A but it seems like it's not engaging properly (?) because when I adjust the focus on the lens, the rangefinder "patch" used to focus (or whatever it's called) doesn't do anything.

All of my other lenses work properly on this camera body, including other Leica lenses, CV lenses, and a Jupiter 8.

Is this lens simply not compatible with the Bessa R2A or am I overlooking something here?

I know the lens is operational because it worked properly on an old Leica body that the seller had.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

I use that combination, no problem with focusing. I'm not sure why yours is giving you trouble.

The cam of the lens moves when focusing ?

So after reading that it is working for others I put the lens back on and now it seems to be working - when I first mounted it the lens was in the focus tab lock position. This time when I mounted it I put it on set on the other end of the focus range. Do you think that has something to do with it?
