whoa... NEW 6x12 folder... belair

From the gallery examples this new camera seems to have the film frame spacing charm of my Kiev 60 camera.

Any light leak issues? Does it keep the film plane straight? It must be easy to travel with right?
 
The Belair is apparently in the post to me already, on its way... I have a load of expired film waiting to use up/waste on this!
 
She's a beauty!

It feels pretty solid for a plastic camera, it's certainly no Holga. Shown along side a Bessa L, it's not that huge either.

Gary, mine should arrive tomorrow. I got an email a few days ago saying that it was shipped, along with a link to the UPS tracking system. I can follow where the camera is.

I'm looking forwards to shooting with it over the winter.

It's a cool concept but I think I'll pass until they'll get that high quality Russian lens sorted out. But I will surely keep an eye on this.

- where is the camera manufactured
- where is the lens manufactured
- what is the lens (& lens mount) made of

I'll give you three guesses where it was made (clue: it's not Germany).

I have the basic model, so it's all plastic, apart from some metal parts in the folding mechanism. But it's a pretty solid plastic. The lens and mount are plastic too.

I took it out at lunchtime - it's pretty simple, as you might expect. Put on the 58mm lens (21mm equiv) and the 6x12 mask. You then set the ISO - 50 to 1600 in full stops only), select the aperture (f/8 or f/16), guess the focus and the camera sets the shutter speed, of which you have no idea what it's set too. Click and then wind on, using the red window at the back to know when to stop winding.
 
Russia or China. Probably China.

Are all of the lens components contained in the interchangeable portion? I have one of these on order and am trying to figure out whether hacking would be an option.

Got mine (Cityslicker) last week and from the time I was notified and received it was ONE day.

Only thing that will take some getting used to are the finders and how hard it is to see the frame markers for 6x6 and 6x9. Might try to hack a diopter onto it so its easier to see.

Haven't souped the roll yet, maybe this weekend
