Missing pin on elmar 50mm f/3.5

😱The tiny pin to stop rotation on my pre-war 50 3.5 collapsible lens has been lost. I am unsure how to locate one or how to proceed once located I thank you in advance for your suggetions. yours truly “spinning without focus in Maine”

If your lens is nickel, you may be out of luck, Don tells me that he has no nickel parts left. OTOH, a chrome one is better than no pin at all 😉

As suggested I will order pin from DAG, once pin arrives is there a procedure for ensuring proper alignment? also the distance plate is is off the barrell, I thank you for your help. mechanically I am a few rolls short of a brick. cheers.

In my experience, simple, that is if I understand your question correctly!

If you screw the lens unit (barrel) back into the flange (distance plate) and it ends up gently flush to the flange when set on infinity then you should be good to go. If it doesn't look right or end up in the right place then it isn't.

Give it a go and it will make sense to you. No magic needed.

Should be easy to fabricate for a watchmaker - its a metal pin (Stainless steel could be used at a pinch) with a fine thread on one end. A proper "old school" watch maker will have the tiny lathes and thread taps to make such things (so long as it uses a more or less standard thread type). If worse comes to worst why not make some inquiries? Its better than using an otherwise good lens for parts or some such.
