Sigma DP2M Accessory Recommendations

Excited to open my DP2M, come Christmas, and I am trying to decide on accessories.

I'll worry about extra batteries after some practice, as I usually shoot an M3 and hope my workflow will be similarly considered.

What I am really concerned about is an OVF. And it appears that the only choices are the Sigma VF21 and the Voigtlander 40mm. Which would you recommend?

Also, with ISO performance what it is (though seemingly better than reviewers have led me to believe), I thought the sigma flash might offer a nice opportunity for experimentation (though I tend to dislike on camera flashes/lights, and this sigma doesn't really offer ceiling bounce). Any thoughts on quality?

As far as the lens hood, it's not available yet, no? Alternatives worth mentioning.

Anything else? Straps, bags? I have a cheap Canon camcorder wrist strap on the way that seems perfect.

I have a 40 ovf from Rollei on the dp2m and the sigma one on the dp1m. The Rollei is huge in comparison, but has much better frame lines, neither is like the voightlander of old like the 25 which gave u plenty of space outside the fame line to c possible moment coming into the frame. They stay permanently on the camera, so no flash work.

I have the sigma lens hood on the dp2m but a cheap no name on the dp1m because I cannot find the sigma version for it yet. I like the sigma lens hood design better. It bayonets onto lens and provide a bit more flare protection in the way they designed it. When I can find the do1m version, the no name will be replaced.

Don't have a flash for it. I use the strap that came w/ it.

I tend to use 100-200 iso for color work. 400 sometimes, but normally anything past 200 I will convert to b&w. I shoot raw+jpg. Convert the best of the keepers from raw to tiff in sigma raw SW. Sigma jpg engine is not very good, there is a lot of lost detail that will not be seen unless u convert from raw.

Thank you for the insight, I doubt the Rollei is available anymore...? Any picture of the camera and VF? Also, are there center points on any OVFs to match center point autofocus?
 
Forgot .. Welcome to the world of sigma cameras. A camera w/ a lot of quirks but is capable of producing some incredible results.

Thanks. I am strangely looking forward to the quirks, to be honest. Though, the picture quality, moreso.

As far as the voigt vs the sigma, which would you recommend (as those are my retail options)? Have you had experience with a modern voight ovf?
 
My voightlander ovf date back to when I was shooting 35mm a lot, so no experience w/ their modern stuff. I did not have a 28 around and the sigma was the cheapest. It going to get down to personal taste, but I like the bigger ovf better.. On the other hand, the smaller sigma ovf is less likely to snag or get in the way.

Btw for whatever reason, the more u charge the sigma batteries, the more they seem to hold their charge longer.. But max I have ever gotten is about 104 shots.

I may have to order and test all three before I return two of them, hah. So come Christmas, I'll make a small review of theses few viewfinders.
 
That would be cool, it's always nice to see reviews of the smaller things rather than just the whole picture, and especially the Sigma, which I think is really underrated in terms of sensor and pictures.. I'm aiming to get one still.. slowly turning into a compact collector...
