I finally got hold of this lens (after loving the Canon 35/2). I'm lucky, got myself an excellent version. I have just uploaded my first film taken with it on my Rangefinder Chronicles blog, where I also consider the lens...

You have some nice looking images.
You are wrong about the claim that the 35/1.8 is the fastest ltm lens. The Canon 35/1.5 is faster.

Of course you are right Raid. I forgot that. Thank you for the correction. I have also corrected the blog.
I personally have not tried the 1.5 and have little desire too, as I have seen and read it's not that nice wide open. But maybe I am wrong here?

The 35/1.5 is more a specialty lens. It can flare when pointed at a light source. It is a very nice lens for potos in open shade. It is part of the Canon 1.5 trio (35-50-85).

Just looked at your latest blog entry, Nick. Nice shots! I also love the Canon 35/1.8. Here's a color sample from Brick Lane, your neck of the woods:

My apologies for this outburst of posting. Thanks for this thread. It reminded me of my 35/1.8.

Don't think I've ever seen anything as sharp as this from my film scans...
