As a fellow MTBer and photographer, I would advise you to replace your trashed carbon MTB with a good titanium frame. Carbon is fine for road bikes, but is just too brittle for a bike that one can expect to crash, especially on rocks. Carbon is very strong, but has poor impact resistance. Titanium is extremely tough, doesn't dent easily, never corrodes and doesn't scratch easily either. That way you won't have to sell off more really nice camera bodies replacing your next broken MTB frame.
BTW, you may be able to save some money by having your carbon MTB repaired. Calfee repairs carbon bikes and apparently can repair some pretty heinous carbon fractures, as shown on their website.
