filmfan, why you say that?
The answer to this can be found all over this thread.
I have to admit, if you want to present photos in a slide-show, you gotta shoot slide film (duh). Slide-shows are amazing!
I find slides too contrasty/saturated, with a thin exposure latitude (you have to absolutely nail exposures), it costs a lot to process, and the labs that do process it don't get enough rolls through their machines to do a good job (this coming from my friend who works at a pro lab).
It is my firm belief that there is absolutely no reason to shoot slides unless you are going to present photos in a slideshow. However, it is really fun to see medium format slides in person!
This all being said-- there are no rules in photography so shoot what you are into!

Got a good lab. When I drop a load of slide film their eyes ligth up. As it won't be for my art I guess it is because of the workout for the cash register

Thank you.
Yes, I understand the lab issue.
But, as you filmfan, shoot what you like
It is the slide show thing that really got me, so I will try and find a lab who can help me out.....I will find out.
But, thank you all for helping me with my photos.

I always try to nail the exposure best I can no matter what type of film I'm shooting, so for me, slide film isn't much different. That said, high contrast scenes in harsh light can be very unforgiving, to say the least. But perfect exposure in the right light? Nothing better than slides. Not even close, really. They can be truly beautiful.
