Can anyone give me suggestions about where can I do a CLA for the 35RC? Also the meter needs to be corrcted. I live in South Florida. If there are repair shops down in South Floruda that you guys can refer, I would be glad. If not please let me know some shops/person taht I can send my 35RC. Thanks.

I was one of the last people to use the that Zuiko guy (35RC), he did a good job but stopped doing 35RCs. He does not have a recommendation for someone else as of 3 months ago. I have recently had some auto setting problems with mine. I like this camera but the build quality is certainly a problem.
 
I had a CLA done on my 35RC about 18 months ago, through Camtech in NY state. But like charjohncarter said, it looks like he doesn't work on them anymore. Too bad because he did a great job on mine.

If I find any info on a new repair place, I'll pass it along
 
Yes thats unfornutate that the "Zuiko" guy does not service 'em anymore. But as I see from other posts in this forum its not difficult to work on a 35RC. I assume a good camera repair shop should be able to do it?
 
Before you start unscrewing stuff, I would hit the IN to see if your problem is discussed with photos for your problem. Even though this is a great concept camera (I have many improvement suggestion, but it is the wrong era), it is not a simple camera once I went into a 35trip and was bewildered, get a plan before jumping.

I would consider tearing into mine if I had a spare for parts and knew what is wrong. Set to A, the needle always goes to red. Set slightly off A, either side I believe, the needle doesn't always go to red, but the combination of aperture and shutter speed showing is not what one would expect given lighting conditions and the ASA setting.

Mine does the same, and I did find where the problem was. But after I 'fixed' it last time it has started doing it again (it was fairly easy with minimum parts removal). I guess I'll have to go in there again.

new aperture blades

new aperture blades

Hi everybody. I got myself Olympus 35 rc in pretty bad condition and after disassembly I found that there are aperture blades missing. Probably somebody before me tried to "repair" it that way to constant full opened aperture. Easiest way to make it work is buy another one, but it is not my style. I would like to make new blades, but don`t know the dimensions. If anybody has his Oly disassembled and can make a scan of them with ruler, I could probably make them myself.

Is it worth trying this? With a bit of luck you can get a cheap one with some short of problem and use its blades in yours.
 
Hi,

There are firms that repair these and they often have old ones that they take parts off of for repairs. Why not ask one if they can let you have a blade?
