Hello everyone. I just nabbed this VT on evilbay and it arrived in nearly flawless condition. It was listed as 'needing a CLA' for the lower shutter speeds. Luck was on my side, as the slow dial works all the way to a 1/4 of a second and I hardly ever trust myself to shoot below that. Anyways, the viewfinder is perfectly clear without any dust, the body is nearly flawless, and the serial number is extremely low. I've read that the VT model serial started at 500000. I'm still getting through my first roll so I have no images from the camera, but will post asap. Here's some pics of the camera! Cheers.

Congrats! That looks like a beauty. The trigger winder is fun to use.

Thanks Bingley! It IS a joy to use! My hands are big enough to the point where I can comfortably focus, change aperture, and keep two fingers on the trigger to wind...really a perfect system for me. Cheap, too, thanks to the fascination with P's and VI's. Woo!

These are amazing, though heavy cameras. I've found most Japanese RF cameras work fine as is and seldom need CLAs.

I had a beautiful, not quite mint chrome Canon 50 1.8, and that along with a beautiful black enamel series VI hood and adapter ring from canon made the buy worth it. Now I just want to send the lens to Youxin to get rid of the oil on the blades, and I'll have a nice set. Thanks for the confirmation on the early serial. Exciting!

I love all of the subtle design features, like the rewind knob you mentioned. The viewfinder is a treat too, with the RF selector showing just a full frame of RF patch for super accurate focus. Just wish I could get a case that would allow me to use the trigger wind that's in somewhat decent shape.

There's a virtually mint VT at my "local" camera store (about 100 kilometers away). Nary a blemish, crisp, clear viewfinder, shutter works at all speeds, smooth lever advance, etc. Comes with a case, a mintish 50/1.8 and a mintish chrome/black 100/3.5. He wants $600.00. I've so far managed to resist the urge to buy it. But I am weakening.

$600 bucks is more than double the going rate. Why not get one for...um...the going rate?

Considering that the camera and lenses are bordering on mint and that it's a kit (all or nothing), $600.000 USD isn't all that outrageous. Still, this is his opening offer. If I was really serious about buying the camera/lenses, I'm sure I could bargain the price down.
