i found this to be weird. in a good way. what's the woman doing by the water? what's the other woman doing? wtf did that blimp come from? and i really like what happened with the top of the woman's bathing suit and the horizon.

just a strong image. great blocky background, silhouetted figure in an engaged posture, snow on an umbrella (which is both gentle and jarring). strong tones. of all the little details, my favorite is the way her hand holds the umbrella handle.
i have two favorite photos of the week. i try to limit myself to one, and to keep my overall list of favorites small. this week, there were two that really grabbed me.

the bridge is so huge and so filtered. very science-fiction. i'm sort of waiting for mecha-godzilla to come out of the fog. i like the colors of the houses and then the faded gray of the bridge. the perspective is terrific.

a very intimate and gentle photograph. the light is wonderful, the tones on her skin and hair kept my attention and the timing catches her right in a transition. 3/4 angle, little from above, lots going on in her eyes and mouth, classic form.
