unusual subject, but it takes you right to the moment. i can see a previous hour's work to fold and arrange the bird family. the shadows are great, the line on the paper is calligraphic, and her fingers are caught at a wonderful moment.

a direct view of a very interesting girl's face, who presents with openness (and a little reserve in the eyes). the focus is perfect, the palette gentle and the light is delicious. i love the sofa in the back.

a very well built photograph, and a wonderful use of golden hour light. the risk with a photo with lines this strong is that it becomes cold and purely technical. the moment captured and the expression shown are tremendously warm.

it took me till today to figure out what this was and how it was set up. per rob's comment on the photo page, the sea reads as sky and the foldups as something utterly alien. great high contrast. was all this planned? slow shutter for the clouds in the sea, which strikes me as thoughful, but the photo is unbalanced (which i like), in a way that strikes me as serendipitous.
