One camera sized leather bag

Hi all!
I'm looking to expand my bag stable with a small bag, that holds one Leica body with lens (up to 90mm non tele) mounted. The bag should be in quality leather (at least 1.3mm thick) and have a somewhat rainproof construction (like no zipper on top). Padded inserts are not mandatory.
If any of you've seen anything like this, or know a good leather worker who might be able to produce one, please give me a holla!

Was looking at the saddleback drybag small, but found out that it doesn't come with a shoulder strap..

For discussion: which inner dimensions do you consider optimal for holding 1-2 bodies with lens?

Use corrugated cardboard and duct tape to construct an appropriate sized container around your camera and lens, then take that to a leather worker to replicate in leather.

The thing is that in Sweden, man hours cost a lot and all goods gets taxed 25%, that's why I prefer online retailing.

i'm more into bigger bags as I'm quite tall and anything small looks... weird/strange...

i'd recommend having a look at those:

aunts and uncles

they have a vast variety and i guess something in your size is there too

great quality leather. I use 1 for work and 1 for university

oh well yeah.. I did have something to say to the topic... :bang:

@majd: the mono_03 is my favorite so far. It seems to do what it's supposed to do, without any extra frills!
Has anyone seen one in person? I've never had anything made in Colombia before..

@kxl: the dry bag is perfect like I said in OP, except that the small one does not have a shoulder strap, only medium (pictured) and large have those.

@Marc G.: those bags all seem over worked; I found no one with only one compartment.. Nice bags, but not for this task!

Alright, I found an artisan who will make a customized version of her standard small bag. Now I need some padding; what's a good material for making a thin padding, I think a standard padding will be to thick in a bag this small..

I ended up ordering a bag from an Etsy artisan, Anna, and received the bag a few weeks ago.

In front of a Grafea standard camera bag.

The bag is extremely well made, with a beautiful natural leather, that will age nicely. I have already darkened it some by applying some oil and wax for protection.
It's very thick, yet pretty light compared to the Grafea!

The design is a customized version of the small camera bag at Annas store. She was very helpful and did the custom without charging extra. Ten out of ten for customer support and communication!
After we settled on the design, production and shipping was under two weeks total!
I made some padding myself, and it fits one M + the Summilux ASPH. A roll of film and a small Gossen meter fits on each side of the lens.

All in all I'm very happy with my purchase, and highly recommend the seller.

Looks really good, Jockos! If it only fits an M with a lens, a roll of film and a small light meter, I guess it is really small.

Lovely bag, but one word of warning: don't store the camera in it, or leave it in the bag for extended periods (several days or longer), because the chemicals used to cure leather outgas slowly (you can smell them) and in the long term they're rarely good news. Let the camera/bag air separately when you're not using the bag and there should be absolutely zero problems.

Only Chrome tanned leather will rust and corrode metal. Vegetable tanned can still trap moisture but will not cause the damage of chrome tanned leather.

Yes, its a good idea to not store the camera or lenses in it, but depending on the leather you may have to not worry so much.
