Thank you! I am really happy with the IIa so far. My only gripe: for such a nice camera, Zeiss could have made a nicer take-up spool 🙁
Here’s my IIIa. I’ve actually used the 1/1250 speed (it has minor capping which manifests at the top of the image). I’ve also used it with flash. A magnificent camera and one of the best 50mm lenses ever made. As I once wrote elsewhere, I appreciate the workmanship and attention to fine detail on Contaxes, and the gear-driven slats of the shutter are alluring, but they have more chrome than a 1955 Buick Roadmaster!
