Look kinda crazy, gorila/gorrila/gorrilla/gorilla-pod. Every spelling imaginable brings up the item.

I haven't yet, but I'm planning to. I do a lot of "street" shooting with a Canon similar to the one in a few of those shots. Now that I've got my winter coat with the deep pockets out of the closet, I'm probably going to pick one of those things up so I can attach it to signposts for stability. If it works halfway decently it'd be an enormous help.

Are you thinking of getting one?

I'm maybe thinking of getting one. They're £20 over here which is a bit crazy for what it is at face value. I rarely ever let my camera leave my hand if I'm out shooting, so I'm not sure what purpose it would provide for me (and pity I no longer use windows and a webcam - it would be perfect for getting those damn webcams in a good stable position).

Looks like somebody was thinking. If the build quality is reasonably good, the thing looks like a very handy and compact tripod.

Amazon will ship the two larger versions directly, but looks like they provide the smallest one (the one I'm looking at, and $22 instead of $40) only through Adorama. I've heard bad stories about them, but I figure for shelf stock as opposed to used goods it can't be that terrible.

ETA: There's also this one, which is 1/10 the price and looks wimpier, but seems to have very positive reviews. Hrm. Might get one of each just to find out.

I'd love to see a facehugger straight out of the original ALIEN with a tripod mount on its back. Only usable once it's inseminated you though 😀
