Having bought my first Dslr recently, I thought I would give RFF's sister site DSLRexchange a glance. However, when I click on the link to the left, all I get is Rivendell Bicycle Works. In another thread, I thought this was due to a corrupted DNS cache at the University where I work. However, I get the same result at home on my Verizon DSL line located in another state.
Can people please click on this link or the one to the left and tell me what you get.
dslrexchange

I wonder if it's in my Safari cache, although I've emptied it. Let me try a different browser.

Geez - this is weird.

I'm also a bicyclist and quite familiar wiht Rivendell.

Their address is: www.rivbike.com

Not even close to dSLR exchange!

BTW: I uaw Firefox and have both bookmarked and clicked on each just to check - all is fine here.

Also, BTW, Rivendell is primarily an "old school" bike company. Kind of retro like film camera folk. Maybe the gods are telling you something?

actually they share very similar ip addresses according to my DNS servers as well as Comcast west coasts:

rivbike.com: 66.249.29.199

and dslrexchange.com is ... .169

try just typing in dslrexchange.com without the www for now and see if it gets you there.

66.249.23.169 was/or is also trying to be used by some other photo site ...

Mine works as well. Given the prevalence of spyware and other assorted nasties, you might want to run "spybot search and destroy", I had a similar problem a few months ago and that was the issue. It's free and a great utility.

Hmm. Using traceroute, I get dslr exchange as being 66.249.3.74 and rivdel as 66.249.23.199, both being served by charlie.spry.com. I assume charlie is the server machine name at spry.com. Entering http://66.249.3.74 brings up rivendel also. 66.249.23.169 brings up a parked domain.
Entering dslrexchange without the www didn't work. It's interesting that the rivdell site brought up under dslr isn't the same as the site at www.rivdel.com. It looks like an older cached page with no links.

Jeff, spybot is for windows only.

Just tried it from ARIN, RIPE, and APNIC, and it seems addressed right:

11 57 57 57 66.249.22.12 thing.spry.com
12 57 57 57 66.249.29.169 sb100.rangefinderforum.com

except for that photo editing site page also serving up pages at .169.

If you have a secondary DNS server, try temp disabling the first (primary).

Yes, I logged into a remote linux box and got 66.249.29.169 from there, too. I can also reach the real dslrexchange using the URL: http://sb100.rangefinderforum.com/. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that rivdel and dsrlexchange aren't in the whois database that a mac won't serve the intended base href (all the pages are coming from the same server).

Thanks for your help, ampguy.
