I saw a nice looking Zorki 6 going on eBay last week, and I couldn't resist it for £16. So today it's sitting on my shelf with my other FSU cameras :D

The condition is very nice - good shutter curtains, speeds look about right, and it's cosmetically very clean. But what impresses me most is how compact it is. I'd expected it to be about the same size as my FED-3, but it isn't - it feels more like a FED-2 but with a lever wind and hinged back (and the FED-2 is probably my favourite FSU camera so far). I'm going to like this - all I need now is for the grey drizzly weather to improve.

Did it come from the channel islands by any chance? I had just bought a Z6 the day before or I'd have bid on it, looked a nice camera and went for less than I'd paid (always happens!) . I bagged the Z5 from the same seller if yours is the one I think it is.

Interesting the differences between the 5 and 6 apart from the obvious hinged back versus bottom-load. The 5 has a noticeably deeper top plate and shallower body. Overall the two are identical in size. Both very nice, I'm looking forward to using them. They are indeed nice & compact, a good competitor for a FED 2, with a brighter finder....enjoy!

It did, yes. And a Z5? Yeah, I expect I'll get one of those some day too

Thanks, I hope you enjoy yours too. Sadly, it's still grey and drizzly here on Merseyside (with worse weather predicted). It was bright about 8am, so I loaded a roll of Delta 400 and put my shoes on, but the few minutes it took was enough time for the clouds to roll in :(

Exactly the same here Alan ( No surprise really I'm only 60 mile away :D ) I was hoping to get out over the holiday period , as like most people it's dark when I go to work and dark when I come home . I might seriously have to look at still life if we don't start getting some brighter days soon .

Yes same seller then - the 5 ended a day or two before the 6. Quite a sweet camera too, seems in fairly good condition. Just needed the rangefinder tweaking, probably more me being perfectionist than a real need but what the hell. All my rangefinders are absolutley accurate :D

The weather here has been just as bad - rain & wind or wind & rain! I have some other bodies with film in before these get a turn but I'm keen to give them a whirl.

I might end up using my cameras to take pictures of each other (again) soon, if it doesn't clear up a bit :)

With the new Z6 the vertical alignment is slightly out, which is not really a problem (though I'll get round to adjusting it in due course), but the horizontal alignment seems to be fine.

Ah yes, that old problem - I've just checked, and I've now got seven bodies with part-finished film in
