Happy New Year!

I remember someone on the forum mentioning a great repair center in the Boston area. I seem to recall the gentleman's name as being Asian. I need to have the rangefinder on my M6 Classic adjusted. Does anyone know how much it would cost? Is it part of a standard CLA for Leicas? Thanks.

I have had work done By SK Grimes/EP Levine (near the SL2/3 Silverline waterfront bus stops on Drydock Ave) and The Camera Craftsman on Commonwealth Ave (near Mass Ave) Phone: (617) 267-5883. Both are excellent. I haven't heard of an Asian repair shop, though there may be one.

You are probably thinking of Youxin Ye, a very fine Leica repair person who lives and works in Canton, MA. He's an independent repair person- I believe he works out of his home. He has always come highly recommended by Leica owners, and has recently done some excellent work for me. My M3 came back from him looking and feeling like a new camera. All operations are tight and smooth now. He even buffed up the chrome so that the bright marks are less evident than before. I can give you his information if you like- PM me.

I think the most recent body Youxin Ye will work on is an M2, or maybe even an M3. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

He said he would work on my M4-2 a week ago. I think he doesn't work on cameras with built in meters. Here's his email if you want to check with him.

I stand corrected. :) Alan maybe edit that email string so it's not contiguous and won't be picked up by a robot? Welcome to the forum BTW!

I just received an email from Youxin stating that he only works on M4-P and earlier, no M6's. Oh well, his loss. He recommended DAG. Where is he located?

I live about an hour from Youxin and have been to his house a few times - most recently about a month ago for minor adjustments on my IIIF. Youxin is a great guy and fun to talk to. I'd trust him with my Leica anytime. Before purchasing my IIIF, I contacted Youxin with a few questions. He was kind enough to invite me down to his home and look at a few Barnack cameras to hold and feel before I went out to purchase one. Send me a PM and I will forward his email addy to you.
