Hi Folks,
I love shooting with the XA, and about 25-40% of the time I find shots on rolls that just boggle me in terms of focusing and sharpness. I started to wonder if the issue was me and my abilities or something mechanical. So, one morning after a night of drinking at my house, I decided to take a few test pics while cleaning last night's victims. Here they are for you all to see.
I'm not sure what conclusions there are, but I do know a CLA wouldn't be a bad idea...also, a culprit might be the focusing patch which is pretty faded and kind of difficult even with the whole black tape trick.
The pics were taken with rebranded Walgreens (agfa?), asa 400, f5.6. I just scanned them in...
0.85 meters, focus on Goldschlager:
1 meter focus on the Duchesse De Bourgogne (brown bottle):
1.5 meters on Jose and Frank:
3 meters on bare foot, grey goose, and jose:
Infinity:
Any thoughts? I can post bigger pics if you want.
