I recently got the 90/2.8 Elmarit-M (latest w/ built-in hood), and I'm really enjoying using it. If you have some photos, let's see them. One of mine:

It is a great lens.
My wife, with no particular interest in photo gear, can easily pick pictures taken with this lens. It produces great sharp, nearly 3D like, images.

Ciao

Yup, those are my boys. I particularly like the way the lens renders eyes, I'm not sure what it is. My Nikkor 105/2.5 AIS did this as well, and there was a certain magic about it. Lots of shine and depth.

Elmarit M 90 F2.8

Elmarit M 90 F2.8

Yes I agree the 90 m Elmarit is one of my favorite leica lens I have and use a lot. I guess i have always liked this focal length in 35mm format. My very first 85mm lens was the new Nikkor 85 f 1.8 along with a Nikkormat FT 2 purchased in 1972 wnen in college.
Tnen the 105mm F2.5 Ais nikkor and now the Elmarit. Since I shoot a lot of furniture etc I also have the Nikkor 85mm pc micro which is fabulous also .

Yes, i make my own furniture though not enough, at least that is what my better half says. Guess i am just to busy with clients furniture to make more than one piece or so per year for her. Thanks. jja

Hi jja,
I also recently bought a 90 Elmarit-M. I agree it is a good lens but some of my early efforts were botched due to hand-holding at too long a shutter speed. The max aperture of 2.8 seems slow when compared with the 1.4 of the 50mm lens that came with the camera. See my gallery for some of my better efforts with the 90mm Elmarit-M (esp 'Zahra 2', 'Engaged', 'M9 prototype' and 'Little Hoodie').

Monz, an excellent gallery of photos. I saw the ones you pointed to (like 'Engaged'), and also found myself looking through the rest of the sets. 'Dignity' is particularly good--it's those Summilux tones. Thanks for sharing.

Hey walnut, I also like your Avatar, have the Elmarit 90/2.8,
and I lived in Ohio for several years in the 1980's. Where
are you in Ohio?
