Summar on the R-D1

I found this very interesting. Here are a couple of photos taken several weeks apart, both with a 1934 vintage uncoated Summar. One was with a Leica IIIF + kodak plus-x, the other with the R-D1.

If you look close enough, you can probably tell which was which. The photos are not great, but I think they both show the lens' character very nicely. I really like how the R-D1 shots do not look overprocessed or plasticky, but more natural.

I like my Summar. If you search Summar on flikr you'll find some more shots including a few I shot... And now that I have it on my M8 it's even almost too sharp!
 
I used a 1935 uncoated summar for a while - it was amazingly sharp on the R-D1 even at f2.

I sold it because it had so much flare that you couldn't use any pix without some post-processing to bring up the contrast.
