shutter sound?

i use a spl to measure the volume of sound in my home theatre.
specifically, to measure what comes out of each speaker so i can balance the total sound in my t.v./movie room.
even a medium priced sound system can sound great if balanced out properly.
my sound is phenominal. it's like being inside the sound.

and i can measure the decibel level of the shutters sound at any given distance.
what distance should i measure from?

as for gear, i am going to order a cv 35/2.5 for the nikon/contax cameras and then the only thing i will buy from that point on is film - at least till 2008.

i have reached a saturation level with gear...

gear in general vs getting out and shooting is wearing me down.
i desperately need some sunshine and warmth to walk in.

Amen! These 8º days are really starting to get to me. My Nikon handles it way better than i do.. 🙂

I'm certain this is the wrong place and time to be asking such a question but, hey, can anyone tell me what's up with NikonCafe.com? It no longer recognises my password and looks for all the world like commercial venture. The opening page is unrecognizable to me and I visited the cite and posted there quite recently.
