Viewfinder Magnifier and Diopter Correction Lens

Why?

Why?

Interesting question. Wouldn't the 1.25x sort of, override the need for the diopter adjustment? My magnifier isn't threaded on the inside, is the diopter adjuster threaded?

Yes, no problem. Both are permanently screwed onto the back of my M6 (.72). Dioptre is -2. I do not use wider than 35mm.

One note of caution. Over the last few years I have lost two dioptre lenses because they unscrewed. This could get expensive. I have put a tiny drop of 'Locktite' on the threads to stop it happening again, ditto with the magnifier.

I use a current diopter correction on my MP and don't advise any added adhesive or it will be very difficult to remove. It doesn't unscrew because of the rubber treatment to both the diopter corrector and the eyepeice bezel to adhere very nicely when tight. Same applies to the magnifier. Older M bodies and diopter correctors both with bare metal however, would be more prone to the problem described by other users.
