Hi guys, I just join this forum today, hope to exchange views on rangefinder (new to RF, had been using SLR & DSLR) with the old birds out there.
I have this question,
1) Can QL17 GIII do multiple exposure? From this forum, I understand it cant.
But like pentax k1000, there is a rewind button in this RF. In k1000, to do multiple exposure, i hold the rewind crank, press the rewind button and crank the film forward. Can I do the same for this RF?
2) I have a orginal RF junior hood for this RF. however, there is a "slot" on the mounting collar, which makes it kind of loose even after I had "secured it to the RF. The "slot" seems orginal. Please advice the purpose of this "slot". I am thinking of "closing" this "slot" to make it more secure.
Thanks in advance.

No - you cannot do multiple exposures with this RF. Holding in the rewind button only disengages one sprocket set, not the one on the crank, so it keeps winding the film.

I do doubles all the time with mine. You have to know how.
First you use the rewind knob to remove all slack from the roll. Then while holding the knob still you push in the rewind button, then advance the film.
Take your shot.
hi greyhoungman, do you mean to do like the pentax k1000?

another question, anybody know what is the purpose of the "slot" in the hood? the hood is less secured because of this. thanks.

Well-known
hoods
hoods
Slotted or vented hoods usually are fitted and positioned with the slot directly in line with the viewfinder to enable the maximum unrestricted view - approx between 12 and 3' o clock in the Canonet.

hi airds, the hood i m using is cononet junior (round), so it is different from the one in your photo (with flats both on hte top and bottom). i can understand if the design is like yours, but for mine, the "slot" is only on the barrel monuting only. there is no "slot" where it flanges out to the hood.
