Hi
I am awaiting several cameras from ''altai '' on e-bay .
[ my last FSU fling from sales of 60s toys ! ]
They had excellent photos , and are in superb cosmetic condition .

What attracted me was that the covering material seems to be identical on all the cameras - Zorki 1 + Fed 1 + Zorki S + Zorki 2S + early Fed 2 . [ autisic stuff likes sameness ! ]
Scratches on the screws suggest that they have all ben stripped down to service / rstore as required .
it seems that I have to wait 5 weeks before they arrive ....
He has answered my questions at length , and in detail . They have all ben cla'd and restored as required .[ He was onleyselling these plus a Z3 ]

Does anyone know anything about this seller -

and about the Rigid I 22 ?

Thanks , dee.

The rigid Industar-22 were optically similar to the collapsible versions. But the rigids were less common. I have one of these (mentioned here)and they look better than the rigid I-50.

I would venture to speculate that the rigid I-22s were not common because they came at a time when the I-22s were being replaced by I-50s. The latter, being perceived as a better improvement prevailed and no more I-22s got to be made, collapsible or otherwise.

Hey, dee. I just recieved an item from Alex, a.k.a. altai. He was super friendly, quick to communicate and the item arrived in great condition. I was very pleased. The only drawback was... he's in Siberia!! He promptly shipped next.day after the auction and it still took exactly 60, count 'em, 60 days to get here. Again, that was certainly no fault of his. He doesn't control the mail. He even sent me a tracking number that showed when it left the country and warned me "it may take awhile." But to put it mildly, it left on a slooooow boat. ;) Be patient. It shall arrive... eventually.

A "rigid" I-22 was also made for the first Zenit. I-22s were still around when the Zenit came along. The later Zenit-S came fitted with a short-barreled I-50. The Zenit I-22 looks quite like the rigid Zorki I-22, so make sure that the two types aren't mixed up.

Hi thanks to all .
Hopefully the I 22 which comes with the Zorki ! - won't fit a Zenit !!!
Siberia is really outside the word !!!
