I came across the picture below somewhere online (sorry, it's been awhile and I don't recall where). Anyway, it was characterized as a pouch for the Leica M6 with Elmar M 50/2.8 lens. Does anybody know anything about this particular pouch? Does anyone have one they'd be willing to sell?
Thanks,
Randy

I don't know anything about that pouch, but have you seen the Rina case for sale by Artisan & Artist? It looks pretty similar. I have one, and its a bit overpriced, but it serves a good purpose.

Thanks, Kyle. Yeah, I too have the Rina case. Works fine for its purpose as you indicated. And I'm not sure the Leica pouch I'm inquiring about offers anything more (other than the Leica name on top, oh boy...). I was kinda hoping that the Leica case has a belt loop on the back to make carrying an M camera around a bit easier since it doesn't easily fit in one's pants pocket. Another possibility that I recently came across is a small nylon case made for one of the portable game players (forget which one off the top of my head) but it was exactly the right size for a Leica M with collapsible lens and it did have a belt loop on the back. Perhaps walking around with a camera strapped to one's belt is a bit too geeky, but I'm trying to have my camera with me more frequently without having to always carry a larger case/manpurse. If I can't find a better solution then I'm back to carrying an XA or a Rollei 35, both admittedly nice cameras.
Thanks,
Randy

This seems like a great option for putting inside another bag if it's easy to grab the camera out and the case will stay open.
If you happen to recall which video game case you saw that would fit a Leica I'd love to know. That Rina case is nice but over priced for what it is. I would just throw one of these in a messenger bag and go.

It's a Leica Soft Leather Case M. Item number 14522. I picked up a beauty on e-bay a couple of weeks ago for 50GBP and was pleased as punch. It's discontinued now but they do crop up on e-bay from time to time. They were an eye watering 149GBP when generally available...
My CL and 40mm are very happy in there - M's will only fit with the Elmar 50mm collapsed
...and yes, it has a belt loop.

I do not have that specific Leica pouch, but I have a very similar one which is well made and a joy to have on my belt every day.
After five or more years of daily use it shows no signs of wear.

Thanks guys for the further information. That case does have me intrigued. Can't find too much more about it online so if anyone has any further information I would appreciate it. In particular, I would like to see a picture of it relative to an M camera to gauge its size. Also, of course, if anyone has one for sale...
Thanks,
Randy
P.S. Magus, your comment about "a collapsible Elmar is in sight" left me wondering exactly what you meant. Do you have one on the way to you? I just got mine and am still in the "trying it out"/"honeymoon" phase.
Thanks,
Randy
