Hi!
Can anyone point me to a place in Chicago where I can get darkroom supplies? In particular, I need multigrade paper for b&w printing,
Best regards, and thanks in advance.

Agreed.
Helix is on Racine just north of IKe and has two parking lots.
Central on Wabash near Jackson .
Calumet is on Goose Island. Go to Halsted & Chicago-north on Halsted 1/4 mi to Kendal college- turn left 45 deg on Cherry st - go 1/2 mi to first stop sign. You will be at 1111 Cherry. Lots of parking.
You can acess Cherry from North or Division, whatever is 1200 north. Unfortunately I get lost every time as street identification and addresses are lacking, but it works if you know landmarks.
Fine people in all these stores. Central caters more to camera users and does not have all the lighting and support equipment the other two have.

It's a bit of a hike, but should be walkable from North/Clybourn or closest to the Blue Line, Chicago stop.

Debasish: I see you are curently (or have been) in Champaign. Helix also has a shop in Urbana (on Green, IIRC), or at least they used to. Might be convenient if you needed a "one stop shop" in the future.

Trius, you're very correct, they had a shop in Urbana, but I guess it's shut down; nevertheless I'll inquire (how come I've never seen it before! :bang: ). There was another film lab in Champaign downtown, which also closed down a while ago, and another is in shambles by the look of it :-( Pretty bad signs here.

My M5s need red dots!
The Helix store in Champaign closed in 1995. A sad day, I should add... I bought my wife a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm lens there.
