I have asked oleg, Alex and just recently, Fedka.com about the availability of repair parts for my Zorki 6. I have not heard back from Alex or Fedka yet, but Oleg's response was not hopeful. He said that repair parts are hard to come by. I need some of the film winding parts for my Zorki 6. Specifically, I need the brass shaft that the film advance spool screws into. This is the same shaft that sticks through the top and has a brass retaining ring screwed to it. If anybody cam help me out that would really be great. I am gonna have to start looking for some parts cameras:bang:

Hi TVphotog, I mentioned in another post that I had used parts from a Zenit 3M or Zenit 3 for the replacement cogs in my Zorki6. This worked well, except that I now have a small collection of Zenits which were cheap, but too good to canibalise for parts. Most parts are interchangeable, the winder lever screw on rings etc, cogs and the part that you wanted, the shaft and button arrangement. The only difference that I am aware of is that the wind ratchet is different as in it is a spring and tooth catch, whereas the Zorki is a friction lever. I suspect that you may become very familiar with this part as you repair the camera as this is what gets deformed as the ring is unscrewed.
I think that I still have the shaft and plate off mine as it was the cog which was damaged, although the shaft may have suffered a little from the hacksaw. I will look for it.
Regards, Dave......
Edit: found it, the first cog is part of the brass part that you need, in mine that is missing a couple of teeth and has been hacked by the saw, so is scrap.
Mine was replaced from a Zenit 3M.

Well-known
a bit O.T. but do you think SLR guys who shoot Zenits use Zorkis for spare parts ?

The Kristall also looks like a good source for parts. I have a line on a broken one, but still looking for broken Zenit 3Ms. Thanks for the info.

Out of curiosity, TV, how exactly did you do this damage? Were you trying to undo the shutter release collar? Luckily my Z6 is working fine but I know that the collar is tight because I did try to undo it. I didn't use much force and gave up when it was obviously tight ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it" logic). At some point, however, I might need to undo it - I'm assuming that the force required can strip the gears - any other approach to avoid that?

I think I just got a bad camera. The take up spool jammed and rather than taking it apart and trying to fix it I applied brute force. A tooth broke off one of the gears and bent and cracked the rest. I then tried to remove the retaining ring(left handed thread) and it just spun. I ended up grinding it off with a dremel.
Wolves, if you can take some digital pics and send them to me I can show you what I need... wait, I will take some digital pics and show you what I need. We can then go from there.

Okay, got the pictures of the parts taken. Yesterday turned out to be quite a day weather-wise. Nothing like thursday, no tornados, but way too much rain. We got 5 inches in the last 2 days. 4 of it fell yesterday. Anyway, I got the pictures taken of the parts I need. so here goes
This the top of a Zorki 6. I need the shaft visable on the righthand side of the picture. There is also a retaining ring that screws onto this shaft. This picture was shamelessly taken off the web. It is not mine.
This is the main part that I need. It goes from the take up spool to the film advance lever.
as you can see, I completely ruined the threads in trying to remove the retaining ring. If your 3M has these parts Wolves, I would be more than glad to pay for them.
From the pictures of 3Ms that I have seen the film advance appears to be close if not the same as the Zorki 6. Let me know and we can figure something out
Thanks
Ken

Crossed wires here TV, I don't own a 3M or any spares, sorry. I was asking how you did this damage so I could avoid doing the same, if I ever have need to get my Z6 top cover off...I've had the top off the Z5 which wasn't too troublesome, but not the Z6 (yet!)
Screwy was offering 3M parts, however.
