I've been admiring 135/2.8 Elmarits for awhile now, but especially since I got my M3. 135 is one of those focal lengths I never had much use for when I was younger but discovered in recent years - an OM2n with a 135 has been a frequent companion to my M kit.

I've been holding out for an E55 version, though. Most of the ones I've seen have been Series VII, but I finally found one I could justify buying. It's in pretty clean shape from the pics.

Woohoo! Hopefully I'll have it within a week or so.

Glad you foud one! I was contemplating replacing my own first-version for one of those with 55mm filter threads, but then, the lens is, basically, the same, so I kep it.

You'll find out that the goggles really come in handy! Congratulations! 🙂

I can hardly wait! I was patient until I found one at the right price - if I find it's not for me, I can easily move it for what I paid. But, I have a good feeling about this!

Yowza!

This was advertised as being in 9 condition; bull pucky. It's cleaner that many NIB lenses I've seen on the shelf in stores!

No brassing, clean glass (advertised as having slight hazing, but I'm not seeing it indoors - I'll check again outside), smooth focus and positive aperture. Yes, it's a bit of a beast, but I knew that coming in. I can hardly wait to try it out!

Check carefuly that the lens is focusing accurately, sometimes the googles are slightly out of alignment. No big deal if you need lens googles aligned, DAG will do it for a very reasonable price. Be careful not to bang the googles against anything. Have fun!
