Who's going to fall for that??? Some of those individual prices remind me of the Steven Gandy ploy -- he supposed had Garry Winogrand's last M4, and was asking some stratospheric price because the camera had such a pedigree.

If he wants to sell the whole lot to one buyer, he may wait a while.

Someone here was selling an M7 that Ted Grant used for the book Women in Medicine. The book is very good but buying a camera just because it was used to take the pictures? Maybe collectors do that but I would think shooters wouldn't. The M7 is hardly a collectible though.

If an owner sells at an inflated price just because they have owned the equipment... that tells you something about them I think.

Cameras used by even the greatest names in photography hold some added value because of the pedigree, but not that much.

My M7 is for sale for $40,000 cuz I'm going to be famous one day.

Any takers? I'll even offer a RFf discount of %10.

Serious inquires only pls...

It only a Camera !!!!! not a Picasso or Rembrandt. I guess HE thinks because HE used it is worth more. Don't think so. I guess HIS ego is out of bounds here.

Fame is only Fame if OTHERS give it to you....BUT...how you handle yourself with THAT fame is sometimes an entrapment and then the Super Ego takes over, and before you know it, You have elevated THAT Fame Way Beyond the boundary that the public gave you in the first place.

He is good, but it only photo equipment for gush sakes....Gezzzz

Someone was selling an M6 TTL w/ 35 'cron ASPH on Ebay for something stupid like $8,000 just because it was used in some Australian indie flick. Even worse: some actor no one that I know has ever even heard of SIGNED the bottom plate of the M6 with a sharpie. Somehow, this made the M6 more valuable.

I thought it was a Japaneses movie, but everything is relative, no? :bang:
