Finally got one a lynx 14e.

😀 Won it on eekbay $29.00 finally got the battery chamber door unscrewed and out came two very old px640 batteries and all this nasty stinky white and yellow powdery corrosion.I chipped out the chunks gently with a pocket screwdriver,then the old white viniger trick cleaned up the rest, popped in two zink air 675 batts with my homemade adapter and presto! the meter came alive.Everything seems to work the focus is a little stiff and it needs a good CLA,the VF is dusty the lens has a few specks in it.This camera looks like it's been in it's case for about twenty years,it's in nice shape just waiting to be used again.Size and weight wise it's about the same as my nikon D50 with my tokina bokina 24-40F2.8 Attached, not too heavy or to light(I'm used to a tamron SP 300F2.8 on my pentax bodies)I'm starting to feel a GAS attack,just as bad as LBA(lens buying addiction) in the pentax dslr forum at dpreview.

Agree - you must be crazy to shoot in two systems !!!
But.... you are in good company. I am a big Nikon fan and have too many Nikon cameras from all time periods and had promised myself not to expand beyond Nikon but laterly I have added a number of Yashicas and had great fun with them and there are one or two other cameras here also...
Good luck with the Lynx - it is still on my "want to have list" but I have not seen any on the local auctions here in Sweden!

Just say NO. BE WARNED, it is a long slippery slope, it starts with one,and pretty soon, there`s a GSN,then one of those shiny black GT`s, maybe a GTN, followed by the AUX. lenses. Then the compartment case and possibly a tripod, stop now while you still have the strength.

You are soooooo right, that´s the way it started for me. I just wanted to test a Yashica Minister but then went on to test a GTN. And when I later saw a CC which was so much smaller and with a faster lens I got that one too... and then a few weeks back I found a very cheap GT...... /jon

If you are going to open it up yourself to clean the VF, be careful of the Sync wire. It is soldered onto the PC socket. I learned to keep a box next to the Lynx when opening it, to rest the Top on. It is a PAIN to resolder!

I almost took that route myself! It started with digging out my old Lynx. I started to search ebay for a nice black GT. Came very close. Then I saw a couple full kits with lenses. Caught myself before it was too late. I knew where I was headed. I knew I would never be happy until I got the RF that I've always wanted, a Leica M6TTL w/ 35/f2 Summicron ASPH.

Now I can't afford to slip on the Leica for a while.😀 So I'm safe...for now.😉

I once had the crazy idea that I would buy one of every rangefinder Yashica made. I came to my senses and stopped at about 8. The only ones I still have are a GSN and a YL, I never shoot the YL but it looks really cool and I just couldn't seem to give it up.
I had a 14e that I had Greyhoundman do a CLA on. I shot with it a few times then sold it to someone else here on RFF. It seemed a bit bulky for shooting in crowded bars, which I often do. The extra speed over my Canonet didn't really seem worth it. Still, it's a great low light camera.
