What a great day! I purchased a black MP .72 vf today (I am pumped...pictures later...what a wonderful camera). While I was talking to the salesman a woman was standing next to me listening intently to our conversation. The salesman left to look for an item and the woman and I struck up a conversation.
It turns out she is an old Nikon/Film shooter who wants to go digital. She had a D200 and is going to sell it because she really does not like it. She has always been intrigued by rangefinders and Leica so she was in the camera store to look at an M8. She wants all the benefits of a top quality digital camera combined with a high quality analog/rf experience. Hence, the M8.
This encounter has turned my thinking around on the rf analog-vs-digital debate. I have been fairly critical of the digital side of the house. I think what's good for rf's is good for all rf's...digital and analog.
I can only hope she enjoys her M8 as much as I will enjoy the MP.
Best regards,
Bob
