Rare(?) Minolta A5 - impressions?

I just got an A5 w/ F2.8 45mm Rokkor lens and 1/500 max shutterspeed. I am awaiting my test shots. I used an old Sekonic Model 86(selenium cell) meter so I hope it's accurate and I did it right 😀 .

Any one have this RF? Any comments or photos samples to share?

I heard it's a rare piece which is why there isn't too much info about it. It's built very well.

I think I have the same model as you - very nice, solid feeling camera as I recall, and quite unappreciated (I bought mine for around £5).

Other options for this model were an f/2 lens, and a shutter that went to 1/1000 (according to this site http://members.aol.com/manualminolta/minfind.htm).

Mine's only had one roll through it so far (which I messed up by tearing in half and accidentally exposing to light :bang: ).

I processed the Superia 400 in LC29 (Ilford's high concentration B&W developer);

Thanks John for the reply... I guess this is rarer than I even imagined... not very many replies...

Anyways... my first roll turned out to be wasted as I was silly enough to think this ~50 yr old camera didn't need new light seals. Anyways... my second roll with the new light seals turned out pretty good and also I got a new meter that can take incident readings. I noticed that among most my RFs (QL19, Auto S2) this
Minolta A5 with 45/2.8 Rokkor actually has 7 aperture blades instead of the traditional 5 blades. It makes a fairly circular aperture which may account for the nice bokeh I noticed.
