Are there people using the "RF Coupled SLR to M Adapters" from CameraQuest.
I would like to use some of my old Olympus Zuiko SLR lenses, and it sounds nice
to use them without to much "mind-breaking". So if quality and price ($259)
are oké, i might just consider to...

Yes. They are very well made. I use a 28/2 like this.
Only problem is, on a Leica, they bring up 50mm framelines only, but with the Bessa
you don't care.

Best,

Roland.

You can do that!! Wow.

I imagine that a lot of the viewfinder would be hidden since the Zuiko lenses are much wider than M lenses. Maybe send Stephen an email at Cameraquest and the head bartender can reply here.

Just did a quick digi shot. Here is how it looks:

Not so big, really. Just a bit longer than the Ultron.

Best,

Roland.

Wow, that adapter looks like a lot of fun...I wonder if it works on an M8? Some of those wide angle Zuiko lens are really sweet, like the 24mm f2.8.

Very tempting, but the price is not so very tempting... :(

I would guess this is good only for wideangles. Also SLR lenses have less distances marked on the scale (1m, 3m, infinity). And they are retrofocus

Igor, I focus by pre-setting a length and then moving the body.

One day, I'll get myself a 21/2. No RF equivalent ....

I have been contemplating this for a while. I have the Zuiko 50/1.2, 35/2 and 85/2. Especially interested in using the 50/1.2 because it is tiny compared to the Canon 50/0.95. The 85/2 is also a smidge smaller than the 75mm Summilux.

Roland - what are the image characteristics of the 28/2 on the M6?

As few examples of the Zuiko 21/2 show up for sale you 'n me gonna hafta arm wrassle prob'ly :) .

Guys, notice that it is not a RF coupling as on RF coupled lenses. With this adapter you have to focus by a separate ring on the adapter, then read the distance off the adapter, and set the distance on the lens. It must be slower than real RF coupled lens, but more precise than pure scale focus (or guess focus).

John,

compared to the Ultron, it's a bit softer wide open. But nice from 2.8 down.
Similar color rendering. Sometimes it's the only fast wide angle in my bag
though ...

Otherwise like Spyderman said. The way I use it is I set the adapter
focus to about what I like (like 1m). I adjust the lens distance scale
to match. Then, I move my body to get the patch in focus. Doesn't make
it slower necessarily - I shoot fast 50s and teles via body movement too.

I wouldn't dare to use it with a fast 50 or tele (close up that is). Not sure if
matching the focus scale numbers is that accurate.

Best,

Roland.

Roland: You have the adapter, I have the 21/2 ... :p :bang:

Some day we shall meet up, I spose ...

I also just acquired a 24/2.8, a VG condition 100/2.8 (my current sample needs some TLC), another 50/1.4 and other goodies. My Oly-cup runneth over.
