Folks,
Just visited one of our sponsors (http://www.rapidwinder.com/) and noticed this info in their upcoming projects page:
Classic (15mm) Softrelease with RFf - Rangefinderforum.com logo - final design to be decided - Our laser-guy works in batches of 100 so if we can get interest from at least 100 RFf-members we' ll consider going ahead. A chrome engraving on red Softie will look the best. The final price to be decided based on design etc.
I am very happy to see this. And I have publicly and privately expressed my desire to have a few.
So, I thought I would put up a poll about them to show Tom and Tuulikki that there is sufficient interest. And I also noted that the Mini SR is absent from the mention on their web site. I put a choice for those in the hope that if there is enough interest, they would offer RFF Minis as well.
Please note that,
1) I am not affiliated with rapidwinder.com or One-Off Industrial Designs in any way beyond being a happy user of their product.
2) This poll is just me hoping to show that there is enough interest to get this to happen.
3) I put a ten day time frame on this.

my Leica and ZI both sport softies from Tom A.. I'd definitely like to 'upgrade' them to a RFF version.. but only if they have the dome top

I want one... but I don't know if I'd really use it, if I'd like using it. The button/dome-type would wind me up though. I like running my finger on the corner of a shutter.

A hat, shirt, lens cap or neckstrap with the RFF logo would be far more visible.

I don't think the intent is advertising, more like showing your support to the board. With that said, I wouldn't mind getting one if I were to add another RF to the stable.

I bought a red and a black normal softie for my M5 and used them later on my M4P and got the mini softie for a Bessa R but that ended up on my FM2.
All four of those cameras are gone now but I kept the original (red) softie for possible future use.

The RFF softie would be nice, but I'd REALLY love Tom to make a softie option for the LTM Barnacks!
(I have been considering saving up the $500 for a Rapidwinder for my IIIf.)

we already have rff hats, very nice ones.

Hats rarely suit my weird head. Only two types sit properly;

Bowler hats are too 'weird' and beanies are too stuffy in this weather, especially with my near-shoulderblade length hair!

Maybe an RFF wristband or hairbands ? :D

Then why the logo? Just buy stuff from RFF advertisers to "show support".

I'd buy a tennis/polo/golf shirt with small RFF logo embroidered on...

Then why the logo?

Because I want three or so for my self, a subtle reminder of one of the few on-line places that I find useful for this hobby of mine.
And I can't buy 100 of 'em so if I can get 97 other folks interested, my selfish goal becomes easier to accomplish.:D

I'll buy one in any color, but I prefer the mini soft release, but whatever is available. PM me with instructions.

Just checking my gear to see which ones would benefit from a soft-release...
I could use a few...but not all of them would go on RF's...sorry!!!

Tom's softies and mini softies are great, but I still have a handful from the RFF bulk purchase last year, so I think I will pass.
