That's just the craziest Rube Goldberg contraption I've ever seen for a camera! Amazing what the geniuses at Wetzlar came up with.

How does it work? I assume the whole faceplate moves backwards and forwards (to clear the bayonet from the camera body) and the bayonets themselves twist in the mount?

Such turrets were common with cine equipment, and this setup was most likely intended for news photographers. Noone really cares what your rig looks like out there 🙂

It's a misprint, they meant BLADE (as in Axe) instead of Lens !!

You thread in screw lenses cant use M lenses, so this way leitz hardened the 2nd market for screw lenses forceing more LTM users to m bodies...
