fomapan 200 @1600 or above?

i am curious if anyone has pushed this film much. i want to give the 200 a try
because it seems like a cheap and versatile film. all i have seen are tests to 800.

No! This film does not produce nice results when pushed. On the contrary: it looks better pulled one stop.

aside from rollie r3, is there an affordable film that can say.. shoot from 100-1600?

Tri-X has very good characteristics up to 1600 (3200 if you like) - I don't know about the cost in your part of the world; here the typical price would be 3 euro a roll ($2.20).

I have used fomapan 400 a lot and it does not push well. I tested a personal EI to be 200.

I second that. I've had good results from 200 to 6400, but the grain at 200 is perhaps more than one would prefer - a slower film would be better if you have the option. If you are stuck with one film regardless the light, you could do far worse than Tri-X. Based on how it looks at 200, I see no reason you couldn't get one more stop and still have a pleasant image, just with more grain that you'd get from a real 100ISO rated film, of course.

looks like my best bet is to nab a bulk roll of the fomapan 200 and a few rolls of tri-x for when it gets dark out. thanks for the suggestions!
