Just had one in the mail from the Ukraine (ebay seller photobuc). At 19 USD plus shipping, I am absolutely and totally impressed with this black beauty.
Check this:
Good thing they build new houses in Malmo, Sweden - the old ones look very ragged in this perspective
Pic taken with Bessa R2A, Tmax 400, R09 > scanner @ 2400dpi
Cheers /Richard

I hear you brother! I cannot believe how well this lens performs, especially in color... load your R2A w/ Kodak Gold and mount this lens for instant Kodachrome!

Yes, I would have expected the usual problems with contrast (i e inability to handle contrast) with this lens, but nada - it just performs! It´s a keeper, for sure.
You want to go into some detail? Have a look at this

Beware - 4,5MB pic....some pixels wide

Edit: Brian - love your pics!

Taken with my Nikon S3.
Your beautiful daughter has developed that look of patient resignation that all children of photographers eventually develop - my three daughters now just make rude faces (that's the next phase you have to look forward to)..

I paid $5 USD for mine.
Very impressive lens, even for 3x that price!
A set using it here:

Yep, I have many times said that everytime when I see my industar 61 images I wan to sell my Leica glass... Just a stunning performer -- the fingerprint is just superb. For example today I left my 50 summilux home and had industar with me while shooting...

Here's a color shot with the 61L/D on the RD-1.
Nice and sharp.
And still for sale.

Hi...
I have an I-61 l/d...
and
an I-26m...
Both have arrived fairly recently, and, as yet are untested.
Yes, these can still be picked up from the FSU sellers at great prices.

I see that 'Zenitar' a very reliable seller has new lenses for $28 including delivery. He also has the Helios 103, also new, for $21 delivered.
Both are bargains in my opinion.

I also got one....but compared with my older 61's the lenses mechanism is rather shoddiliy assembled on ym piece. I can not say if this inlunces the lens' performance but has any body else noticed a not so tight fit on their 61 l/d's?

I've had at least 3 pass through my hands, and only one was what I'd considert 100% right without being worked on. I think quality control slipped toward the end. I gave the best one to a friend ... 'Doh! The other two were gunky with old FSU grease/wax. After a CLA, each of these two, while very usable, is a little looser than I like. Shouldn't complain -- it's a great lens and produces top shelf images, even if the focusing is just a little loose.Spider67 said:I also got one....but compared with my older 61's the lenses mechanism is rather shoddiliy assembled on ym piece. i'd be glad to see a comparsion.. i know that results may vary from piece to piece but only rf glass i have is industar 26m wich is not bad.. but there is always temptation to search for jupiter or i61l/d because 'what if the results would be more pleasant..'
thanks..

My I-61 L/D gives fine results, though its construction leaves much to be desired.
