Hello

There is this BLACK CANON P on ebay (120128966918)
The seller from Stockolm said it's original... I don't think so..;
Anybody has an idea about that?

It's not paint ,it's enamel , we can see the chrome under the black.
He looks like used black M4P or M6
But ,perhaps Canon made black enamel canon P?

In cameraquest Stephen Gandy talk only about Black PAINT Canon P ; He said nothing about black enamel.

Yeah, that isn't original and most people are going to know who would be wanting to buy one, so the price will be something somewhat reasonable.

Looks fake to me. You can see chrome around the edges..

Black paint and black enamel are one in the same. You may be thinking black paint or black chrome..

Black Canon P

Black Canon P

A badly done repaint. Not worth $100.00, plus as stated above the rangefinder has seperated, very expensive to repair better off buying a different P body,IMHO.

The seller says it's a black chrome model ("black anodized finish"), not "black enamel".
"Enamel" and "paint" mean pretty the same thing ("enamel" meaning "glossy oven baked paint").

Here it seems that we have something resembling the black chrome finish of the Minolta CLE, the Leica M5 - M4-2 - M4-P - M6.

This finish has certainly been performed on a torn-down camera during a service. I just find it pretty badly done and ugly. There are huge quantities of nice original chrome Canon P around so that we don't pay any interest to this one IMO.

Plus, there is separation in the viewfinder prism - the baddest news re. this camera.

I told you ,my english is basic
When i said enamel i mean black Chrome. So ,thanks
Keep going correcting me ,and I sure will progress

In my opinion only a collector is going to be 'hard on' an original black Canon P, as for the rest of the 'users' chromes are just as good and quite reasonably priced, because as a user I'd sell an original black one in a heart beat and get a mint chrome P or 7 and a few nice lens to go on front.
