help me!! 90 75 versions flare

hello i have been recently looking at teles for my bessa r3a

and i was considering buying the 90 elmarit but i have seen scarry flare and contrast loss in in challenging light does anyone know how bad this can be any examples

i really want a 90 considering i have heard the cv 75 is a bit soft bestlens in that range for challenging light ? any opinions would be appreciated 90 fat this elmarit or the cron apo lanthar even the elmar :bang:

I have a elmar-c 90mm with the rubber hood, encounterd no problems of flare sofar, then I may be not that critical.

the cv 75 is a very good lens, i had one along with the 35/2.5 when i had a bessa r and did not find it soft at all.
i also think the 75 focal length might be more usable than the 90.

The 90 asp asph summicron stinks when it comes to flare. I avoid those conditions when using the apo. My v1 90 Elmarit shines in those conditions and can be bought in nice condition for under $400. Excellent lens in every respect.

I have the current version 90 Elmarit 2.8 and it does very nicely with flare.

Shooting though current Elmarit 90mm/2.8 also - so far no issues whatsoever with either sharpness of flare control. Very nice performance, even wide open.

The 75/2.5 is a very sharp lens with great bokeh.

The Classic Elmarit and Tele Elmarits that I used did not flare when
used with Leitz hood.

i was actually looking at the c elmar but i am planning to use it for concerts from the front row so yeah the faster ones would be great but i only hear horrible things about the flare on the cron and tele elmarit and older fat elmarits the elmar has had the best reviews for flare i mean hell im going to be shooting into stagelights id hate to see flare where the should be a person lol but seriousl i can get a c elmar for 150$ in good shape i hope this works im sure it wont be as sharp as my cv 40 my current lens that is litterally flare proof http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/58748518/ its amazing

Maybe Joe read your mind when he said that the 75 would be better for the use for which you want it. The fast Leitz 73 mm was made largely for theatre work.

Roland's example shot should be reassuring, also his words about other lenses.

wow i didnt realise that was a 3000$ lens used wow but it sure is legendary budget is DEFINETLY UNDER 1200 lol i should have mentioned that
