Apple I-PHONE line at the local store

Can't see myself getting one just yet. I just bought an i-pod 3 weeks ago while on holiday in New York. Could do with a new mobile phone though. My Motorola L7 and I just don't get along.

according to apple's website as of this morning, only 24/164 apple stores has sold out of the Iphone. I want to laugh at all the dorks who camped out in line to for days to buy an iphone on Friday..

Old co-founder of Apple - Wozniak - was also in line at an apple store and for him it wasn't about getting it first, it was about 'having been there' and to meet other likeminded people. A bit like...hanging out at a forum with people with a common interest and passion. With 2000+ posts - they spent a whole lot less in line though than what you spend on forums. I guess they would be entitled to have a good laugh at you :)

To each his passions and how he/she choses to pursue them.

Only two iPhones for each customer. According to news articles every person was walking out of the store with two cell phones. How goofy is that?

iPhone makes me laugh because it is akeen to a modern luxury car powered by a 1980's 4 cylinder.

Matthew55000: here's my laugh for totally over estimating iPhone's demand and waiting in line unnecessarily: HAHA.
Here's my laugh again when iPhone 2.0 comes out that runs on 3G: HAHA.

I have to be honest!
An old friend of mine who works out in the boonies checked with their local ATT store and they were out,so, he calls me and asks me to go to the Apple store to see if they had any?
I stroll down the street and walk in there, they had a center table full of the things for people to check out. and lots of people fiddling around with the things!! I didn't PLAY:angel:
The associate told me they had plenty to sell! Limit was 2 per customer.
So to make the story short my friend drove in and picked one up for $500:eek: :bang:
he opted for the lower memory otherwise it would have been $600:eek:  :bang: :bang:

I swear I didn't play:angel:

But the iPhone does look like it has a pretty slick interface. Apple always did have a knack for that.

Apple always did have a knack for using other company's design patents without license and then getting sued for infringement. The iPod is the most recent example.

I know where they obtained the idea for the MAC interface, and hadnt heard about the iPod. I'll have to check this out.
