Yesterday I bought 3 Voigtlander accessories at a local fair:
2 focar lenses Focar 1 and Focar 2 (for Bessa 1 i think)
1 distance meter (fits in a hotshoe)
The distance meter consists of a finder with the usual focussing areas in the center. By turning a big knob on the distance meter, you can make the areas overlap and read the distance to the subject from the scale on the big knob.
Does anyone know what this distance meter is called in Voigtlander terms ?
Everything works ok, and the lenses are in very good condition in their original packaging (plastic cover + carton packaging). What could they be worth ?
Cheers,
javabean.

Does it look like this?:
I've only ever known it as a Voigtlander Rangefinder - my g/f's dad had one with his non-rangefinder Voigtlander camera and I see many at camera shows.

Yep that's the one Kully !
so it's a Voigtlander Rangefinder. I only knew this term for when it's attached to a whole camera. Makes sense though.
Thanks,
javabean.

The local army artillery unit here uses standalone rangefinders about a meter wide. They tell me they need the accuracy of the long base length.

Do you know what the VF magnification is on those things?

I've never looked through their rangefinders but I get the impression that they magnify quite a bit for the operator to see a distant target clearly.
