Pentaxians... Any out there?

Taken with my Pentax MZ-5, Pentax M 28mm f/3.5 HP5+ in XTOL 1+1.

I seem to remember this was taken wide open - the bokeh is quite busy.
Sadly this camera is stuck halfway through a shutter cycle - the mirror is half up - and removing the batteries and replacing them doesn’t fix it.

Lynn, the mirror motor gear in the originals is plastic and tends to strip. You can get a replacement metal gear.

I ordered the HD DA 21mm f3.2 Limited, via Amazon Japan which has great prices due to the currency exchange rate. As far as I can tell, there won't be any additional duties to deliver to the US. I've been agonizing too long over a very small/light lens for the K-3 III Monochrome, this one is the obvious choice but I resisted it, due to running into some issues with a previous couple of the SMC models I handled/owned. I think they were just used and abused. This one's fresh!

Yesterday I decided to pull up an online PDF of the user manual for my Z-1p. It's a bit opaque when getting into the finer points of settings, and all I know about how to use it is what I've discovered poking around it. I learned a few more things from the manual, but definitely didn't exhaust its contents. You know you have a camera with a lot of settings when the very manual has a section entitled "HOW TO USE THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL." A manual for the manual, if you will.

I have a couple of K1000's, an MX and an ME Super, with a few K mount and M42 lenses. I also acquired (fairly recently) a Pentax 17, but have yet to finish a roll.

Both the 21/3.2 and the 15/4 are great.

I love my 15/4 but never bothered with the 21/3.2 because I love my HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 Limited DC WR so much that I never felt the need for any primes with in it's range that weren't faster (FA 35/2 & FA 50/1.4). That lens pretty much lives on my K-3. I have a 35-70 that's not quite as good but still decent for my PZ-1p (thankfully I got a paper copy of the manual with mine. That REALLY helps) I'm looking for a good copy of the SMC-Pentax FA 28-105mm F4-5.6 Power Zoom for it but not really in a hurry right now.

But the 15/4, 20-40 & the 70/2.4 are a really nice package with the K-3 😎

The 20-40 is a normal normal zoom. A category of its own. And it is unusually nice for a zoom. I got the 21/3.2 before I got the 20-40, but now the 20-40 is almost welded to my K-3 iii Mono.

I've thought about the 20-40, but I'm really looking for a way to keep the Monochrome as small and light as possible for taking it along on my commute. It's not the best camera for that task (the GR is a better one; looking to reacquire once the GRIV comes out), but the FA 31 Ltd adds a lot of weight to the package, and it was my normal for this kit. The 21 is a wide, but it's not extremely wide, so it should do.
