W/NW Trees

I have shot this particular tree a lot of times. And with a lot of different cameras. It is on a side road across the river in Washington a short drive from where some nice red Rhodies bloom later. The humidity off the Columbia and the Pacific supply the right environment for this rich white growth on the tree. The image is in focus, the branches are sharp. But the growth is cottony and misleads one into thinking the image is not in focus.

Most days I go for a short walk along the cliff path, a scenic boardwalk skirting the ocean at Curl Curl. There’s quite a few banksia trees that have been shaped by the onshore winds, on the landward side of the path.

Thank you very much, Chuckroast, for your kind and sensible comments. I wish I could say I had planned the look of this scene ! I stumbled on this picture recently as I was scanning some old films and I was quite surprised by this particular one.The negative was grossly overexposed (I am presently working on a print, and it is proving quite challenging).

There was a walking path behind the garage where my car was being tended to. I "just happened" to have my Leica CL with this 40 mm Summicron-C with me. HP5+ at 800 ASA, Blazinal 1:50, negative scan with an Epson V550

Something caught my eyes about how "twisty" those trunk were. They seemed to be speaking back to the person looking at them.
