Created by local Dallas artist, Linnen Glatt, the Harrow is a large rotating steel cone that moves around a sand covered track once every 24 hours. The artwork was installed in 1992 in Luben Plaza Park in downtown Dallas. By the mid 2000s, the timepiece had stopped working and was on the verge of being dismantled, when local art patrons stepped in and raised money to have it completely restored. After many years of delay, the piece was finally restored in 2021. It is fully functional today.
This is one of the most peaceful spots in downtown Dallas.
I shot this back in 2008 with a Lumix L1 with a Leica 14-50 2.8/3.5 zoom.
