I was thinking of adding a 1.25 or 1.4 magnifier to my M9.

anyone know if you can still see the 35mm frame line with each of these?

are there any options other then the Leica branded magnifiers?

I use a 1.25X magnifier for 50mm and longer.
You can just about see the 35mm lines with it attached.

Thanks for the replies! I only use 50mm right now, 35 mm will get used down the line. A built in diopter might solve the whole thing for me :)

Mainly looking to make the patch bigger so i can focus easier and so i can see a little better :)

I use the MS-MAG 1.35x magnifier when shooting 75mm and 90mm. It works really well, has a built in diopter adjustment and costs much less than the Leica magnifiers. I forget if I can see the 35mm framelines, I think I can. Here is the link to the product info:

I use the same magnifier and the 35 mm frame is a problem. I can make it work, but it takes a lot of eyeball gymnastics. This magnifier is better for 50-135.

I had a 1.25x, but the improvement wasn't quite enough so I wonder why I even have it on. Then, I bought a 1.4 and it's much better, for me. I only screw it on for 50 or longer.

I have to move my eyes around to see the 50 framelines with the 1.4x, and have a easier time on the 35 framelines with the 1.25x. Also, you may want to consider how thick the thing is. If folks used to complain about the 1.25x, the 1.4x will push your eye into its socket. Otherwise, I totally agree with Hosermage's comment about the effectiveness of magnification.

I know this isnt the same because of the crop but FYI anyone with an M8. I have the 1.4x Leica mag and i can see the 35mm framelines. - It looks like the 28mm framelines unmagnified.
